finally online! =)

After working for so long, my work is finally done. It took me only 3 hours and 10 minutes, to upload the 6 minutes movie from over here onto YouTube! =P
This is the final cut of all selected video clips I’ve taken along the Helsinki-Day at the KONE global youth camp 2009. I’m still working on the Hyvinkää-Day movie. I will keep working on it – in the mean time, enjoy this nice clip and think back about the good time we had! =)

Photos of Helsinki-Day KONE global youth camp 2009 =)

Just uploaded the 20 best pictures, of me and my group TEAM VIPER, I brought safe through Helsinki on our second KONE camp day.
Gladfully I didn’t lost anybody, even the groups have been much bigger than last year.
We had great fun, did our stations very good and taken a very lot of cool animals pictures!
At the end, we raced pace 3 out of all teams (I think there were about 12 or so ;)
Check out our pictures:

Helsinki Day KONE Global Youth Camp 2009

the KONE camp 2009! =)

Well, I’m sorry, I didn’t had time to publish any news during the past days. Just like last year, the time at camp went by extremely fast!
I’ve been very busy, helping out as staff member and felt, that it was way more work this year. Probably it just seemed like that to me, because I wasn’t in charge to built up any stations last year. While this year, the group leaders didn’t rotate with there groups and I had to take as well care of creating great stations for the campers! =)
To be honest, I really have no clue, where all my time went … – I only enjoyed sauna and went out with the boat on the lake twice … (and one of those times it has been my duty as I organized a great canoe tour with Juho)
Each day, I went to bed after midnight and got up around 6am, as I called my girlfriend over Skype in Guatemala. At her side of the world, it’s then 9pm =P
The campers been great this year – we all really had good fun! It was impressive, how good the English skills been this year! =)
I got the impression, that this year really all campers got together and we haven’t had any sub-groups of campers, which blocked English. Especially “hi5” to all the campers from Asia – they really showed a lot of motivation this year and rocked the stage! =)
One of the points, which really amazed me is, to see how fast the electronic and technology marked is running at the moment. About a year ago nobody had an iPhone – the Internet at camp was very bad and I haven’t been online there at all …
Well, this year I didn’t had much time to update my website, but it’s amazing which big technology step we made in only one year. Many campers and staff members had an iPhone – I would say 98% a digital camera – probably 100% a mobile phone (some even more – like me … 3 mobile phones – iPhone, Nokia from KONE, Nokia from home ;) and we got a lot of Notebooks in the staff board as well.
The Internet was okay – a bit slow at the beginning, as everybody was downloading and surfing at the same moment …
For myself I can say, I haven’t used the Internet last year. This year I called each day over Skype, checked my e-mails quite often and uploaded my photos …
It shows us, how much the electronic market is booming! =b
Still we all know, that this camp is about being there in person, meeting and finding friends from all over the world and having amazing good fun!
As staff member it was much work and I’ve been busy a lot, but at the same time, I enjoyed having interesting conversations, learning new games and rotate. ^^
We got a lot of positive feedback from the campers and I want to add to this my personal “THANK YOU” to everybody, who made this camp become possible.
First of all I want to thank KONE for supporting this amazing event.
Than the great staff team – consisting of Aaron, Alessandro, Anna, Ari, Carina, Christina, Daniel, Dragan, Emma, Gabriel, Iain, Iina, Iiris, Jaana, Jere, Joe, John, Juho, Jukka, Jussi, Marjo, Meimei (Lunwu), Micheal, Mirka, Moustapha, Oona, Steve and Taina – decided to go here with an alphabetic order, as everybody did an awesome good job!
But not to forget the most important group – our campers!
Without them, nothing would have work out like it did – I want to thank everybody for there great motivation and positive energy, they brought with them!
We all might never be again like this at one place in the same moment. But the spirit of the KONE global youth camp will keep on living. To create much more peace and friendships in this world … – and give the parents a short break from there monsters! =P
Here comes another “thank you” to my roommates Meimei, Gabi and Alessandro – we all did a great job, keeping our room such wonderful clean! ^^ =P
I will hopefully upload some pictures anytime in the future and will make sure, to realize my YouTube clip! =)
(btw.: I’ve already uploaded about 250 new pictures from the past months – they will be available soon ;)
More pictures about the camp can be found on the KONE camp website – click here ;)
I wish everybody a good and safe way back home and hope to meet them again some a days – somewhere on this small world! =)
Take care and happy traveling everybody!
SEBI=)
PS: another last “rotate” !!!

Finally back at the camp ground … =)

Yesterday on the 27th of July 2009, the KONE youth camp 2009 started officially with the Hyvinkää day. We all had to get up really early in the morning, which kind of killed me, as I’m still in the Guatemala time zone. We went with John to the KONE meeting point in Helsinki, from where we went by a shuttle bus to the playground in Hyvinkää, which is actually since years not really in Hyvinkää! =P
We split all our young campers (over 100 because many young people of the host families joint us those days) up in many groups and played games, based on team working.
After lunch, we played 3 more big games, got into the bus and drove to a nice lake, where everybody was able to go swimming, play games or just relax.
It was a very nice sunny day, from which we returned back home quite late around 8pm.
I’ve worked from there on until one o’clock in the morning, to finish all my pictures. I finished editing them and uploaded already nearly all of them.
Probably they will be shown publish by tomorrow! =)
As I tried to call my girlfriend today’s morning (Tuesday the 28th of July 2009) at 5:30am, I only slept 4 1/2 hours. I tried to reach her for 30 minutes, but har mobile phone was turned off at that time! =(
I then made the rest of my stuff ready to check out the hotel, had a quick breakfast and tried again to call her at 7:30am. Finally it worked and we’ve been able to talk for about 20 minutes! =)
Pretty exactly in 10 days I will be back in Guatemala – it was nice to have a break in Europa, but I miss her just SOOOOO much !!!
When we all arrived in Helsinki at our main meeting point, in front of the big old with church, we realized my video idea and started so officially my project called “roadrunner” =)
We all lined up in a super long line and dropped my small Nike pack bag from one person to the next. I was going along the line and made a video! =)
To be honest, I didn’t expected the chain of people being nearly as long! =P
We filled the WHOLE place! ;)
After this short stand up for my new video clip project, everybody got togethe in there groups and we started to run with our group through the city …
It was a really nice Helsinki day, my group was super good and we finished all tasks perfect! On the way, we got the challenge, to make funny and creative pictures of animals – we really got a lot of those! =)
One task was, to take a KONE camp 2009 T-shirt and give it in the park to someone as present by not talking at all … – our way crossed with this one girl, which looked like she listen to hard music and didn’t got too much luck in her life … – we decided to give it her – so one camper went up to her, gave the T-shirt to her, which was packaged like a present and walked away – we all weren’t allowed to talk, but I turned around one more time and showed her both thumbs up – she was so happy, that she started right there to cry … – it was definitely a magic moment …
As group we decided to take a picture of an animal right next to there in the grass – so the campers laid down in the form of a snake and I climbed on a tree, to get a perfect photo – there I showed this girl, we’ve given the present to, that she should come and join us … – she really did so, we finally found out her name and I felt like I help somebody a lot today, by creating more happiness! =)
After this, we all had lunch like each year at the Pizza restaurant RAX, got some free time for shopping and walked to the roller coaster park.
Over there I was the whole time around with my friends Meimei and Gabriel. Somehow it happens, that this day felt more like being camper again, than staff member – really had super good fun! =)
All the staff members already arrived here at the camp site and we are still working and preparing everything for tomorrow. I will try to soon get to bed, as I have to be fit by tomorrow! ;)
More camp news will come soon! Looking forward to an AMAZING KONE camp 2009 !!! =)

today & my friend Richart’s island =)

Today was quite okay … – I got up a little bit later than planned, as I’ve been last night again up until 2:30am. I first went to two Apple stores, but they told me, that I have to get in contact with the Apple support from Austria, to let my iPhone fix.
After this, I took the bus to the KONE main building in Helsinki – it’s the new and very beautiful building for the headmasters of KONE. Over there, I met Jaana and Iina, who already went there a bit earlier and went up the modern glass building with there very nice new elevators. There I helped out, building the staff folder and later worked on Jaana’s computer, to create the totally closed user account, I plan to  let the campers work with. To be honest, I was amazed, how easy you can close down all the functions in MS Windows. Even it took me some time, I actually expected, that it will take me few days, rather than few hours.
After returning in the afternoon, I worked a bit on the Internet and then went for a walk into the city to find a digital video camera. I already asked many friends and searched the Internet for quite a while … – in Finland itself, electronics are as well quite expansive – had at first quite troubles with to find something for around € 50,-
Have the feeling, that there are way less cheap options available on the market, than in Austria. I did some research in the Austrian Amazon store and was amazed by the price difference.
Somebody told me, he saw a cheap camera about € 50,- (which is build for YouTube videos) at the main railway station. I decided to  start my tour there and asked in a small electronics shop for it. The guy behind the desk was very friendly and told me the way to a better place. I walked for about 10 minutes and searched there, but the cheapest I could find was starting from € 173,- … for sure a nice camera, but to expansive, for my kind of use – it could always get lost or break on my far and sometimes crazy and hard way …
Again I asked and they recommended me a shop across the street. On my way to that shop I found two other ones, and the best price went down to € 139,- =P
At the end, I arrived in that shop, searched a bit and there it was! For € 50,- a very small camera, build for producing a YouTube video.
A very friendly shop employee, opened the glass box for me and we even opened one of the packages, as we searched for some technical information. There I saw this little sticker on the box of the camera, which told € 24,95 – reduced to half price! ^^ – just perfect !!! ;)
I bought it and just tried it out over here – the quality is great and it’s perfect for producing my planned YouTube clip! =)
Also uploading all my pictures from the DVD back to the computer finally worked today and so I can start to work on the 5296 pictures I’ve taken since Dallas, TX in the USA! =P
Only thing, which makes me worry at the moment is, that I haven’t heard anything from my girlfriend in a while – I hope it’s only once more the Internet connection in Guatemala …
Coming together with this post, I want to publish some nice pictures!

I’ve asked Richart, who I met on his own island at Isla Mjueres, if I’m allowed to publish some of the pictures of his island. I wrote quite a bit about him and his self build island, based on empty plastic bottles in the past posts. Richart is a great, very open mind person, nobody should miss to meet! =)

Don’t miss to check out his website: http://www.spiralislanders.com/

Here are some pictures, to give you an idea, what I’m talking about:

news from SEBI=)

Here it finally comes! After couple of days, full of program, I’m back online on my website! =)
I’ve already published yesterday the news, that I arrived glad in Helsinki. My flight landed in time at 5pm and John was so nice, to pick me up and give me a lift to my couch hosts LiuYan&Zhang. They are a nice couple from China, studying in Finland and been couch surfers at my mum’s place, few months ago.
LiuYan&Zhang been very nice and offered me first something to eat! =)
We talked a lot that evening and I went quite late to bed. As later it got, as more I got awake and motivated, as I’m still living in the wrong time zone. Finally I went to bed very late and got up as well very super late.
On Friday we walked a little bit through the forest, which is close by – well in Finland forest is close by everywhere ;)
I really enjoyed the feeling of being back in Europa, even I miss my girlfriend a lot!
Already when I landed in London, I felt like I’m back home, even I was still far from Austria and will not stop by there … – I just felt like I’m back in a system I know – in the society I know, how to act and react, to not cause any problems with anybody.
I actually didn’t know, that you have to go through the whole USA boarder security and control, even when you only booked your international flight over an airport in the USA. It was good, that I filled out the online form three days ago, just in case. They really took again my fingerprints and a photo.
In my point of few, that’s a little bit much work for people, who not even setting a single step outside the airport, but as far as I heard, our European Union is also getting more strict step by step. How easy and luxury was flying in the past and how much did we lose from that ?!? Now the flight takes less time and the airplane lands more softly, but we spent over an hour in security check … ;)
Anyway, let’s come back to the story of my past days in Finland …
The weather was super nice and I’m actually not so sure, what happened to all the time … – it just passed by so fast …
Also in Friday night, I couldn’t really sleep and so worked until 2am in the morning on a nice little website for my girlfriend. (which I don’t want to publish or link her, as it’s a personal present from my heart for her! <3)
On Saturday I got up around 11am and John picket me up at 2:30pm, to drive to Jaana’s place. Jaana finished university and invited us to her party. It was a good BBQ garden party, with perfect weather and a lot of cold drinks.
John had to leave quite early, but I decided, that I will find my way back home. (well, to be honest, didn’t know at that time, that I’m in Hyvinkää ;)
Jaana also gave me there her Notebook, on which I’m working right now and supported me with a Finish mobile phone, while I’m here! =)
The party was fun and I also met Anna and Iina from the KONE camp, found new friends Emmi and Eero from Finland and heard many great stories from the Australian team! =)
After a great afternoon, we came to the point, where we had to decide, if we want to take the last train back to Helsinki or stay at Jaana’s place. I asked them: am I staying and there answer was “Yes!” ^^ =P
We all went together as group to the disco “Level 5” and it was just an amazing evening !!! =)
To say it shortly, it was just an amazing evening there! We really had a good party (by the way, Jaana’s dad definitely rocks! =) – like European style, we came back home somewhere between 4am and 4:30am =P
I slept on the floor at Jaana’s house, on some soft stuff and had a sleeping bag. As the sleeping bag was built for snow in the Alps, the night was getting very hot. I couldn’t really risk, to open it much or use it only half open, as I’ve known, that there is exactly one Mosquito in the room. So I didn’t really slept so much, but as I was tired enough, I at least relaxed ;)
On the next day, we all got up very late, enjoyed breakfast and it was already in the afternoon, when we left the place. Emmi and Eero gave me and a friend from Australia a lift, but we made our way back to Helsinki very relaxed and in a cool style. First stopped for ice cream, then at there home, then went around 6am to a breakfast place, to have a breakfast and finally ended up playing Mini golf … ^^ =P
It was really got fun and finally I took the train back to my friends LiuYan&Zhang! =)
As well that night, I was working long into the night and couldn’t fall asleep until 2:30am.
Another time I slept long into the next morning and went shopping with Zhang at 11am, to bye everything to cook Spaghetti with meat balls (Thanks again to my great cooking teacher Natalie from Toronto! ;) I’m already 20 years old and able to cook one meal – maybe I will learn a second one until I’m 40! ^^ =P
The Spaghetti tasted wonderful and after lunch, Liu was helping me to fix my shoes. My Nike shoes are great, but badly, I cut a whole on both shoes, as I was trying to jump over a stone wall in Mexico and Tikal (Mexico right shoe – Tikal left one ;)
AS just fixing it wouldn’t look good (especially, as we only had red and green yarn, we searched for a good thing to cover the whole. Liu finally got the great and creative idea, to use the pieces, some T-shirts got on the inside, to tell the brand.
That worked perfect and I really like that idea a lot! Such economic and creative !!! =)
In the mean time I tried to do laundry, which worked good, but as the dryer was broken, my stuff was still a bit wet after 250 minutes of drying it in the machine =P
After fixing my shoes and saying good-bye to my friends, I changed today (Monday the 20th of July 2009) shortly before 7pm to Iina’s place. She and her boyfriend have a wonderful nice flat in downtown Helsinki and been so nice, to share there couch (very comfortable =) with me for couple of days.
I now hang my stuff up over here, so it gets dry. As the GPS of my iPhone seems to be broken, I will bring it tomorrow to Apple and ask for getting guaranty, as it’s not even a year old …
Well, that are so far all the news from over here … – it’s already again 2:20am and I’m still waiting for my girlfriend to call me from my Guatemala mobile phone … – I miss her SOOOOO much !!! – just decided, that it will be better, to stay in her time zone, as I will return to Guatemala to see her in about 18 days! =)
Even Finland is nice, I’m having a good time with many friends and I enjoy to take a stop in Europe, I can’t wait to be back in Central America and be together with my sweet love! <3

Here are finally some pictures of my (new) shoes ^^ – crazy – exactly, why I like them! ;)
PS: JUHUUUUUUUUUU – at the moment I’m calling with my sweet girlfriend! =)
That’s all Folks! =P
